The idea and construct of gender is taught to kids, and the best way to show gender neutrality through clothing is to go back to adolescence when you were your most whimsy and didn't have all of the pressures of society on you, including the construct of the things that pigeonhole and oppress people today. Hongjoong has said that he wanted to create clothing that didn't have the boys side or the girls side, and the best way to even deconstruct that thought is going back to adolescence, which is inherently genius.
