ok it's going to take a while to post everything because so much is dropping so fast, it's a bit overwhelming, and i want to give proper time and attention without rushing. so first the mv. i'm going to talk about the song itself when i cover the album as a whole, so this is purely about how everything looks. as a very visual person with a lifelong background in art, this is stunning. the colour palettes strike the perfect balance between the golden hour theme and the summer vibe; rich golds, yellows, oranges balance the variety of blues, teals, and the range from black to white. this contrast is prevalent throughout the video, in objects in the sets and lighting, such as the tinting on windshields and the water, even utilizing the warmer skintones against cooler backgrounds. there are a lot of little details i love, such as ateez' license plate being orange and atiny's being blue, and the gold jewelry against the blue sky. there's also a lot of really cool framing throughout, and the usage of silhouettes is a gorgeous touch as well. i picked up on some parallels between everyone and i'm really curious of what that might mean lore-wise. one thing that stood out from the concept photos is how both hongjoong and seonghwa have very similar necklaces, with seonghwa's having a key and hongjoong's having a whistle. i included this screenshot specifically because, while i'm not sure if it was intentional, the windows behind him almost give an impression of wings. with the whistle, in the context of the video, it could be compared to a lifeguard. whistles can be used as an alert, a call to attention, a beacon of sound to unify. as the captain, this kind of protective role suits him really well, both inside lore and outside of it. since seonghwa has a key, perhaps he too is protecting something? i have a theory about the album release itself that i'm not sure if i should bring up yet, but if it's going in the direction i think it's going, we only have half of the story for part 3. it's after 2am and i still need to clean before it gets too late, but there are so many thoughts in my mind about this comeback. ateez and the entire creative team and everyone involved, you're genius and you better be proud of what you've created. this is gorgeous. #ateez #에이티즈 #hongjoong #홍중 #seonghwa #성화 #yunho #윤호 #yeosang #여상 #san #산 #mingi #민기 #wooyoung #우영 #jongho #종호 #larknotes
