Can I just say how much I love the side quests and new opportunities KQ and ATEEZ are taking on to expand their reach? It’s such a smart move for building longevity. Seeing Mingi get on stage at EDC Korea and perform “AUTOBAHN,” and the members doing magazine features and making appearances outside of typical K-pop spaces... it’s all pulling in a crowd that isn’t just tied to the K-pop industry or fandom. ATEEZ is still K-pop, but I've always said this; ATEEZ transcends K-pop. Everything they’re doing stays true to who they are both as a group and individually, but they’re also breaking down some of the limitations that can come with the industry.
At the end of the day, outside of K-pop, longevity for any artist comes from showing up in new spaces, drawing in new fans, and keeping them because the music is just that good. They’re still honoring the traditional sides of K-pop fandom, but they (and their team) are also thinking outside the box... venturing into new territory while staying proud and authentic to who they are. That’s so important. When ATEEZ said they’re changing the game, they really meant it, and they’re proving it with everything they’re doing.
More appearances at events like EDC and Grand Mint Festival in the future, please! (PS: It would be so cool if they got a sync partnership with something like the FIFA World Cup. Their anthem songs would fit perfectly in that space.)
I'm so proud of you guys.
